Dancing With the Devil - a Jazz Gillum song
I'm Ready - written by Willie Dixon, this is a classic Muddy Waters macho number
Police Dog Blues - originally by Blind Blake, Lorry has put a raw bottle-neck arrangement on this one
Stormy Monday - Howlin' Wolf was the first to record this song
Willie Brown Blues - a Ry Cooder classic, written for the Blues film "Crossroads". Not to be confused with "Gordon Brown Blues".....
Key to the Highway - originally recorded by Jazz Gillum, we stick pretty close to the original
Stone Fox Chase - by Area Code 615...maybe better known as the theme tune for the BBC programme "The Old Grey Whistle Test"
Mojo Hand - by Lightning Hopkins - we do it a bit more up-tempo than the original, but still the same song
Mississippi Blues - a classic slow boogie blues by the legendary Willie Brown
Hoochie Coochie Man - probably the best known Muddy Waters song
My Bucket's Got a Hole in it - no, not "Dear Liza"...a song from the early 1900s recorded by Washboard Sam...a blues with a bit of a ragtime feel
Think it was the Wine - a good old drinking song by the Seagall/Schwarl band
Gambling Bar-room Blues - originally recorded by Jimmie Rodgers, this was sung around the bars and bordellos from around the 1900s
Dust my Broom - by Robert Johnson, although we play it in a style closer to Elmore James
Good Morning Blues - the best known song by the great Leadbelly
House of the Rising Sun - this classic hobo song was first recorded by Woodie Guthrie, but our version is closer to Eric Burdon and the Animals
Moving on - by Gary Moore...this one trucks along
Badge - needs no introduction - the classic Clapton/Cream song
Evening - originally a poem set to music by Jimmie Witherspoon, Lorry has added a third verse and a 32 bar harp lead, giving this one a very soulful sound....
Pretty Woman - no, not Roy Orbison, but the great John Mayall
Sporting Life - looked everywhere and still can't find who wrote this - a prize for anyone who can!
Crossroads - by the legendary Robert Johnson - no blues gig complete without it!
Spoonful - a classic Howlin' Wolf piece
Rollin' an' Tumblin' - recorded origianlly by Muddy Waters and Little Walter
On the Road Again - probably the best known song by Canned Heat
Unsquare Dance - by Dave Brubeck - our first foray into 7/4 time...we get a sadistic buzz seeing the confusion when people try and dance to this one!!
Little Red Rooster - by Howlin' Wolf
Boom,Boom,Boom,Boom - by John Lee Hooker as seen in the great film The Blues Brothers
Honky Tonk Woman - by Willy Dixson & The Rolling Stones, made better by Lorry's awesome slide Licks on his Line Six
Vestapol - It's said the earlist recording was in 1928 with Gus Cannon (banjo joe) playing the knife slide and Blind Blake on vocals.Song dates back to 1911. This recording performed by Lorry and Melvyn April 2009.
Valerie - Recorded by the Zutons/ Amy Winehouse, one of our best moody numbers with Lorry's voice full of feeling an killer harp of Mel.
Road House Blues - a 60s R&B Number by the Doors. Great foot stomping number, we do it proud
